SideTracked no more - Stockbridge Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

37251: Cache keeps going missing and the hiding place is a bit busier than when I placed it, many years ago.

Proximity issues with newer caches prevent me from moving it to a more suitable location.

Thanks to everyone who found it for their logs.

Geocache Description:

A cache and dash by the A30 in Stockbridge, Hampshire.

This cache is a small vial. It has been placed on the site of the former Stockbridge railway station on the 'Sprat and Winkle' line from Romsey to Andover. The station was opened on March 6th 1865 and closed on September 7th 1964 for passengers and September 18th 1967 for freight. When at the cache (and depending on whether it's school hours - after all, I wouldn't want any of you getting chased by angry teachers or parents!) if you were to look into the school grounds you may glimpse a reconstruction of part of the station and its waiting shelter. The actual railway line ran along the main road you are standing on and a level crossing was situated roughly where the roundabout is to the south. The Test Way long distance path runs alongside the A30 on the verge. Parking is available in the form of a tarmac layby next to the cache. Keep an eye on little ones and dogfinks as the road can be busy. Why not have a look around Stockbridge? If you like antique shops and bespoke items, then this is the place for you! Would cachers kindly replace the cache exactly as found as it only attaches on one side. If not, it's likely to fall from its hiding place. Thank you.
