The Crooked River #2 Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

W8TTS: Well, this series has had a real good run of 4 years. And, I want to give a big thanks to all who searched for these. My hiking buddy, Madison J. Dog, do to a hip problem, can no longer go on the hikes to take care of these. Thereby taking some of the fun out of them. So, I'm going to Archive them, and open up the area so that others can place cache along this great river, and the hike and bike trail that follows it.

Geocache Description:

The Crooked River at Middlebury.

This cache is located where Middlebury Road crosses the Cuyahoga River.
It's a 35mm can. So, bring your own writing stick.

The Cuyahoga River, which in the Iroquois language means "crooked river" and is most famous for being "the river which caught fire", begins it's winding journey in Geauga County and 85 miles later empties into Lake Erie at Cleveland, about 35 miles west of it's headwaters.

This winding journey takes the river south towards Kent, Munroe Falls, and then to Akron, where it turns sharply North and flows through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. It then flows through the southern suburbs of Cleveland and finally at Cleveland it empties into Lake Erie.

This cache is located very close to where Brimfield Township and the cities of Kent, Stow, Tallmadge meet, and the river is making it's turn from flowing southwest to west. There are a number of other caches in the area along or near the river (Look here).

Congratulations to mattfamily for the First To Find!
