VOR NIT - VOR Nitra
Very high frequency omnidirectional range - po slovensky Vysokofrekvencný všesmerový rádio maják.
Systém VOR bol pravdepodobne najväcším vynálezom v aviatike hned za prúdovým motorom.
S týmto systémom sa môže pilot lietadla jednoducho, presne a bez dvojznacnosti navigovat z bodu A do bodu B. VOR systém bol plošne zavedený zaciatkom roku 1950 a stále je hlavným navigacným systémom vo väcšine lietadiel. V súcasnosti je tento systém majákov pomaly vytlácaný systémom GPS.
Základný princíp fungovania systému VOR je velmi jednoduchý. Zariadenie VOR vysiela dva signály súcasne vo frekvencnom pásme od 108.00 MHz do 117.95MHz s odstupom 50kHz. Jeden signál je konštantný vo všetkých smeroch, zatial co ten druhý sa otáca okolo stanice.
Navigacné zariadenie lietadla prijíma oba signály a rozdiel medzi týmito dvoma signálmi sa zobrazuje ako uhol od stanice VOR.
Signál obsahuje informáciu o názve majáku v morzeovke, poprípade aj v hlasovej forme.
Jedno z takýchto zariadení nájdete na uvedených súradniciach. VOR Nitra vysiela na frekvencii 116,50 MHz, má dosah 80 km a jeho magnetická odchýlka je E 3,121°. Nachádza sa na jednej z najfrekventovanejších leteckých ciest nad Slovenskom. Na našom území je týchto staníc ešte niekolko - napr. Sliac, Košice, Štúrovo, Poprad, atd.

VOR NIT - VOR Nitra
The VHF Omnidirectional Range navigation system, VOR, was probably the most significant aviation invention other than the jet engine. With it, a pilot can simply, accurately, and without ambiguity navigate from Point A to Point B.
The widespread introduction of VORs began in the early 1950s and 50 years later it remains the primary navigation system in the overwhelming majority of aircraft. Currently this system is slowly replaced by GPS.
The basic principle of operation of the VOR is very simple: the VOR facility transmits two signals at the same time in the frequency range from 108.00 MHz to 117.95 MHz with spacing 50 kHz. One signal is constant in all directions, while the other is rotated about the station. The airborne equipment receives both signals, looks (electronically) at the difference between the two signals, and interprets the result as a radial from the station.
The signal contains the name of the VOR in Morse alphabet or even in the voice form.
One of such devices can be found on the specified coordinates. VOR NIT broadcasts at a frequency of 116.50 MHz, its range is 80 km and the magnetic deviation is 3.121 ° E. This VOR is situated on one of the most frequent air routes over the Slovakia. In territory of Slovakia is a still a few of these stations for example Sliac, Košice, Štúrovo, Poprad etc.
