The cache is placed at the far end of the park from the main gate. and is meant as a pendant (and a modest hommage) to Mostly Moose's "Hanging from the gates", the line betweend them roughly follows the main axis of the park from the main gate to the "Wheel of life".
I would strongly recomend taking your time in the park and general area. It's bigger than you think and it's got it all: Big lawns, quiet benches, museums, cafés, pool area, tennis courts, skating rink, theatre, playground, 14,000 roses, small lakes and 212 sculptures by Gustav Vigeland.
Beeing one of Norways most popular tourist attractions (and free of charge at that) and also one of Oslo's largest parks, it will of course be packed with mugglers of all nationalities, races, colors, creeds, genders and ages. To protect the cache from mini-mugglers it's raised off the ground. The hiding place's immediate surroundings will have to be negotiated with caution. Approach from the north is recomended
The park is great for picniks, jogging and all kinds of lawn sports, having plenty of room and even several kilometeres of prepared ski tracks when conditions are favorable. Both tourists and locals flock to the park on fine summer days, the latter regrettably bringing an incredible number of the plague of the Norwegian summer: the disposable barbeque. Filling the fresh air with noisome albeit temporary, fumes and the lawns with permanent burnholes.
I would recomend strolling southwest by Skøyen primary school (jr's.alma mater), and maybe through the "English park" where you can watch both 80-s cooperative-builded block of flats and some of the largest private residential properties in Oslo.
From here it is also possible, if you are inclined to long walks, to follow walkways and paths all the way up in the hills at Strømsdammen lake, where you can find this great cache
Close by the cache you may also run into curious metal baskets. Theese are the "holes" in a Frisbee golf course.
