This cache is in the inner city area with extremely high muggle activity, hence the higher difficulty 2 rating.
Please bring your own pen as there is no room other than the log & geocaching note, and replace cache very carefully.
Background
When this cache was originally placed in 2009, it was named "Shop til u drop" because it was a very busy CBD shopping area, an iconic part of Christchurch that the City Council had just completed its inner city re-invigorating project.
Earthquake, rebuild Update
After the earthquake 22 Feb 2011, this area was closed to the public and many buildings in Cashel Mall demolished. On 29 October 2011, 27 shops and cafes, built from converted shipping containers, opened in this Mall, as the first part of the city's red zone to open for business since the February earthquake.
The project, dubbed Restart, was an effort to revive the economy in the quake-devastated city. Prime Minister John Key officially opened Restart. In 2014 the containers slowly disappeared to make way for rebuilding and by 31 January 2018, the Container Mall was closed to make way for new development. As they say - "Watch this space!
