Geocache Description:

[EST]

Aardest

Algselt karbis
» Logiraamat, pliiats, teritaja, pabersalvrätikud, esmaleidja diplom, geopeituse juhend
» Helkur, 5 Pokemoni tätoveeringut, lukk, pealuu märk, kollane ja roheline kivi, klaaskuul, teeküünal, seen, EST-POL lipp, transformer mägnuasi, Poola münt
» GeoKretid: B&B's Partying Hippo

Edukaid otsinguid!

We've been passing near this place quite a few times and recently while trying to solve a multi our bad calculations led us straight to it. Instead of turning back we decided to check this place out. After a short climb we knew this place deserves a cache and we hid it right away. Beautiful view and interesting place. At first the ski jump seemed to be abandoned for a longer time but after getting home we found out that it is actually still in use during winter and what's more interesting is that, according to some sources, it is the first ski jump built in Estonia. It has two K-spots: K-18 and K-30. It was opened on February 3rd 1929. During that time the longest jumps were around 10m long. 50 years later, in 1979 the jumps were only ~7 meters longer. Current jump record was set not long ago, in March 2009 and measures 29m.

About the cache
This cache is also published in geopeitus.ee and opencaching.pl
Container is a plastic box (dimensions: 12 x 12 x 5 cm) put in a vapour permeable membrane sachet - it should allow the box to dry fast after getting wet - we are testing how this method works so please do NOT add any plastic bag. Do not dig! WARNING! Cache is placed directly next to the slope, be careful especially with children - this is why we used the dangerous attribute.

Original contents
» Logbook, pencil, sharpener, tissues, FTF diploma, geocaching instructions
» Reflector, 5 Pokemon tattoos, lock, scull badge, yellow and green stone, glass ball, candle, mushroom, EST-POL flag, transformer car toy, Polish coin
» GeoKrets: B&B's Partying Hippo

Happy hunting!
