NB: Highway 40 is closed from December 1 through
June 15 each year.
Just East of the Continental Divide is a
regular sized square LnL type container with the usual logbook,
pencils, trading items, and a Canadian Geographic carbiner
for the first to find!
The cache was placed during a caching trip to several of the
newer caches in the area. In fact there are now seven other caches
on or near the trail leading to Grizzly Ridge.
Be sure to bring the camera along to capture
pictures of the thousands of wildflowers growing along the
trail.
We decided to explore the trail to the south along Grizzly Ridge
(which led to the placement of this cache) and the views are
outstanding. It would be a natural horseshoe to follow Grizzly
Ridge to the south, travel through Paradise Valley (some elevation
loss 100 - 150 meters), and take the Highwood Ridge back to the
Highwood Pass parking area. This wasn't an option during our visit
due to the significant quantity of water running through Paradise
Valley from the spring run off.

Cachers looking to check out the caches along this trail are
reminded to pack appropriate hiking gear, bear spray, water, food,
and snacks - it's a demanding, but rewarding hike!
