There are three stages to the CAR event:
1) Hide
2) Seek
3) Meet and Vote
Stage 1: Hide Hide one or more caches between now and September
21st, 2009. The deadline is to ensure that our reviewer has
sufficient time to review and publish all the hides for the event.
However, hiders are encouraged to place their caches for the event
earlier than that to work out any issues that may arise. Every
cache submitted for CAR should observe the following:
i) All Geocaches must be in compliance with Geocaching.com
guidelines.
ii) Caches must be submitted under one (or more) of the eight
categories.
iii) All forms of physical cache hides are permitted, but caches
sizes must be larger than "Micro".
iv) Puzzle and multi-caches are allowed, but keep them short and
sweet (in other words, solvable and findable within 30-45
minutes).
v) All hides must be hidden within 40 km of the posted coordinates
for the CCARS09 event cache (both old and new posted coordinates
are acceptable as the centre of origin).
vi) You are limited to one hide per Geocaching
account/category.
vii) Caches must be submitted for review to Geocaching.com no later
than September 21st. Please note that caches submitted after that
date or that experience "complications" may not be published in
time for the event.
viii) You should send a note to the reviewer stating that it is
placed for the CCARS09 event and should be published the evening of
Thursday 24th September, 2009.
ix) Caches must state at the top of the cache page the following
text: "This cache is for the CCARS09 event, and should not be
sought out until after 5:30 pm on September 25th, 2009 and any logs
before that will be deleted. CCARS09 caches are published the
evening before to give everyone the chance to look at the cache
listings, solve puzzles and devise their battle plans before the
hunt begins."
x) Caches must include the following mnemonic at the end of their
name (to facilitate searches by keyword): CCARS09
xi) Please add the appropriate banner to your cache page to
indicate which category(ies) your cache is entered into.
Copy and paste HTML is listed on the official CCARS09 website in
the "Hide" section.
Hide caches you would enjoy finding yourself. Better yet, hide
with intent on winning a prize!
All hides must be made to remain permanent following the event for
everyone to find at their leisure.
Categories for hiding and voting are:
Orange Cache
In Plain Sight Cache
Nighttime Cache
Underwater Cache
PVC Pipe Cache
Cartoon Cache (Kids only)
Noisy Cache
Movie Cache
Stage 2: Seek
At 5:30 pm on Friday 25th September, 2009, all CCARS09 caches
become fair game and the hunt begins. Feel free to find as many or
as few caches as you can and want. During the hunt, please document
the time of find in the logbook. This makes things more interesting
by informing subsequent finders how close they are on your tail.
Note: You are welcome to find any cache in Calgary during the
event, but only caches with CCARS09 in the title count towards your
CAR finds total.
Stage 3: Meet and Vote
At 5:30pm on Saturday 26th September, 2009, following a hectic (or
leisurely) 24 hour marathon of caching, we will gather for a bite
and a beverage and share stories about the happenings of the past
24 hours. The gathering will be held at TITANS Bar and
Grill Nick's Steakhouse and Pizza Restaurant, 2430
Crowchild Trail NW, Calgary, AB T2M 4N5, (403) 282-9278.
As with all events, please post a 'Will Attend' note with a mention
of the number of people in your party and the level of your
particpation.
The place is kid-friendly, so be sure to bring your side-kicks
too!
Prizes: Voting for the best achievements during CCARS09 will be
condicted at the wrap-up party and prizes will be awarded
immediately afterwards.
Participation:
You are welcome to log the event as 'Attended' if you have
participated in at least one stage of CAR.

I've started uploading the slideshow photographs to my flickr
account but I am limited to 100MB/month, so this is just some of
them. I'll add more as I can. Hopefully I have removed all the
spoiler photographs, let me know if I erred. Click on the logo
