Shawnee Chief Tecumseh Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Heavy Metal: The stump where the cache was haning inside was destroyed, best to hide in rocks, I guess. Thanks to all who visited. I'll be repurposing the container soon.

Geocache Description:

Hope you enjoy this hike through the woods. Follow the red trail (horse trail) to the cache location. If you have just visited Shawnee Chief Cornstalk cache, just continue on.

Sisters Ann Calhoun Baker and Elizabeth Calhoun Baker have generously allowed this tract of land to be used for outdoor pursuits. Hiking, biking, horseback riding, and geocaching are some of the activities allowed in this preserve of 289 acres. Parking is on the left on state route 690 about 1/2 mile north of US 50.

Several groups are working to create a system of trails through the preserve. Conact one of these groups for more information: Athens Trails, Athens Conservance, Athens County Chapter of the Ohio Horseman's Club. The bike trails have not started as yet.

A map showing the trails can be viewed by clicking here for a PDF file.

There is a 300' elevation climb. Hiking boots, long pants, bug spray and water are a good idea.
