Geocache Description:

An offset micro cache in the centre of Cirencester. The cache is within 0.25 miles of the published co-ordinates. The cache is technically available 24/7, although after 9.00pm there are limited ways in.

Those co-ordinates should have you facing the War Memorial Cross in the square outside St. John The Baptist Church in Cirencester. The cache is not at this place, but is within 0.25 of here. The information you need can be found in the first line of the 3-lined carved "lamentable" inscription (make sure you get the right piece of information !)

Since this seems to make sense only to me, I have added some more information to help you.

The cache can be found at:

N 51 43.DTN
W 001 58.RIH

where:

D = number of D's in the first line
T = position in the first line of the SECOND T
N = position in the first line of the FIRST N
R = Number of R's in the first line
I = position in the first line of the LAST I
H = position in the first line of the H

A bit about the location:
The Church of St John The Baptist is the primary church in the Parish of Cirencester (visit link) Colloquially, the Cathedral of the Cotswolds, the church was originally Cirencester Abbey. Today, very little else of the Abbey remains in nearby Abbey Park. A victim of town's struggle for corporate status as a Borough (which has never come to pass), the Abbot assumed Lord of the Manor status, and the Abbey was dissolved and demolished in 1539 during the Reformation, and the church handed to the town.

A 5-star church in Simon Jenkins' England 1000 Greatest Churches, the building is renowned for its perpendicular porch. Currently undergoing refurbishment, the church is well worth a look inside.

If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication
