Kiwis in the People's Square (Beijing) Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

funkymunkyzone: Time to put this event to bed. We had a fantastic time in China and this was a really fun hour or so event meeting some other travellers from far and wide. Thanks again for attending and happy caching. Maybe we'll set up another event in some other place we visit... Maybe we'll meet again... [;)]

Cheers,
Chris & Vera

Geocache Description:

Kiwis in the People's Square

In the spirit of the newly signed (well, a little while ago now) Free Trade Agreement between New Zealand and China, a couple of kiwis, team funkymunkyzone, will be in Beijing to see the sites, do some geocaching and meet the locals.

The Event

This casual meet-up will start at 3pm on the 19th of July in Tiananmen square, near the virtual cache. At 3:30, we'll probably move to a local establishment for coffee and snacks, although this is entirely optional.

The organisers will have a log sheet to sign and will be bringing some geocoins and travel bugs from New Zealand to continue their journeys and various missions, and event attendees will be welcome to discover/swap them.

See you there, in Tiananmen Square!

How to spot a Kiwi in Tiananmen Square:
There are two of us and we will obviously be holding a GPS, although may not be showing it off given the police presence in the square. We will have backpacks (a brown one and a green one), and one of us will be wearing an Earthcaching t-shirt. If it's raining we'll probably have a white umbrella.
