Ludwig Pettifogger proudly presents Velamsund Nature Reserve.
Velamsund is one of the largest nature reserves in Nacka east of Stockholm. Local residents come here all year round to enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings. The terrain is very undulating, and the reserve is traversed by Boo-leden, a 15 km hiking trail starting from Boo hembygdsgård.
Velamsund is home to a wealth of wildlife and a unique broadleaf woodland, which is one of the reasons why the reserve has been included in EU`s Natura 2000 network of nature consevation sites.
Velamsund has an interesting history as an aristocratic estate. North of the courtyard, there are traces of the country park laid out in the 19th century in the English style. In the 18th century, attempts were made to cultivate grapes for winemaking in the canyon east of Velamsundsviken. Since 2000, the vinyard has been restored and new vines planted.

After having found the cache and enjoyed the view you may want to take a break at the coffee-shop Långa Raden which is beautifully situated in the oldest building in the Velamsund Nature Reserve and close to the starting point.
