A large church full of light and a strongly sacred atmosphere. The late Norman nave is impressive and there are many medieval features, the main door and the font being perhaps the most striking. Two stained glass windows commemorate Gilbert White, curate of Selborne, naturalist and author of The Natural History and Antiquities of Selborne which has been in print since 1789. His modest grave marked with initials and date is outside the north wall of the chancel. The setting of the church in the steeply rolling landscape is superb.
If anybody would like to expand on this series please do so. Could you please let sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
