St. Mary's, Sturminster Newton.
St. Mary’s Church was rebuilt in 1486 by one of the last Abbots of Glastonbury, the carved roof dates from this time but much of the rest of the church is from a later rebuild. In 1827 it was almost completely rebuilt by the Reverend Thomas Henry Lane Fox M.A. who also paid for the rebuilding. The stained glass window in the East of the Church was placed in memory of William Loftus Lowndes in 1885. The window in the West of the Church was installed the following year in memory of his wife and was designed and made by their daughter.
