Geocache Description:

The cache is a 35mm film pot.

Eric Ravilious (1903-1942) is one of the most popular artists of his period. He was a painter of watercolours and murals, a book illustrator in wood engraving and lithography, and a designer of transfer-ware pottery. From 1940 he was an Official War Artist, painting memorable pictures of ships, aircraft and coastal defences, until his tragic death in a flying accident in 1942.

There are many WW2 features in the area south of this cache.

To find the cache you will need to:
- view his painting of 'Cuckmere Haven';
- go to the likely place where he sat when he painted it;
- use your cacher's eye (and the Additional Hint?) to seek the hiding place.

Update:
T.R.a,M.P has suggested a likely alternative location for the cache. I will check this out.
In the mean-time, please assume, like I did whilst squinting at the thumbnail of this picture viewed on my BlackBerry, that the black object cross the foreground is not a fence (which is likely, after my having seen the real picture at the Towner Art Gallery, Eastbourne, recently) or the main road.

Take your own pictures and upload them, if you like.
Not from Eric's ground zero though, please.

Please note that there is off-road pay-parking, and often an ice cream van, at the nearby It's Green! cache.

I suggest that you approach this cache by walking across the Seven Sisters Country Park.
