Geocache Description:

Welcome to Walker, Kansas. The cache is easily accessed by either Interstate 70 or Highway 40 traffic.

The cache will blend with it's surroundings and you will need to bring a pencil as there is only room for a logbook and disclaimer. Please be sure to return it the same as you find it so that it continues to blend in.

Please be respectful of service times of the nearby church and we hope you enjoy finding this cache as much as we had hiding it!

From Kansas: A Guide to the Sunflower State - Tour 3 - Victoria section:

WALKER, (2,000 alt, 110 pop.), is a tiny German-Russian settlement built about QUEEN ANNE'S CHURCH (Roman Catholic), a limestone structure of modified Gothic design, which serves as the center of spiritual and social life for the frugal and industrious farmers of the surrounding wheat area.

The church called St. Ann's Catholic Church continues to serve as the center of activity for the small community of Walker. The Church was constructed beginning in 1904 and completed in 1905. The St. Anne Parish was begun in 1903 however it is now operated on the St. Fidelis parish in Victoria, Kansas. The St. Ann's Catholic Church has one mass each Sunday at 7:45 am.

Congratulations to Jim McDonald for the FTF! Found within 16 hours of being placed.
