Une cache "park and grab" pour les fins de journées..
Un bel endroit pour méditer au soleil couchant, assis sur le banc qui vous attend près du seul vestige de la Chapelle de Péra.
La Chapelle, dédiée à Notre Dame de Péra, a été contruite sur un terroir appartenant à l’ Abbaye de Bonnefont. Le pan de mur correspond à la porte d’entrée du sanctuaire.
L’arrêté du 14 vendémiaire de l’an III ordonna la démolition de l’édifice. La présence d’un couvent aujourd’hui disparu non loin de la chapelle est attestée par le nom du quartier des Moungès, des « moines ».
La statue de la Vierge encore existante fut érigée à la fin du XIXe siècle après une mission, et rappelle la localisation de l’ancien autel de la chapelle.
On raconte qu’il existait une fontaine miraculeuse proche de cet endroit, réputée pour soigner les yeux. Mais elle a été rasée et son emplacement n’est plus visible.
Une légende dit aussi que la Vierge, qui se situe sur une ligne de crête à égale distance des vallées de la Nère et de la Louge, protègerait la vallée de la Louge du mauvais temps en le repoussant vers celle de la Nère…. Légende d’ailleurs souvent vérifiée, vous diront les anciens…

A "park and grab" cache for the end of the day ..
A nice place to meditate at sunset, sitting on the bench waiting for you near the only remnant of the Chapelle de Pera.
The chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Pera, was built on land belonging to Bonnefont Abbey. The wall was the gateway to the sanctuary.
The decree of 14 vendémiaire of year III ordered the demolition of the building. The presence of a convent (now disappeared) near the chapel is evidenced by the name of the Moungès district: "monks".
The still existing Virgin statue was built in the late 19th century after a mission, and recalls the location of the chapel former altar.
It is said that there was a miraculous fountain near this place, reputed to cure eyes. But it was destroyed and its site is no longer visible.
A legend says that the Virgin, which is situated on a ridge line at equal distance from the Nère and Louge valleys, protects the Louge valley from bad weather by pushing it to the Nère valley .... A legend that often proved to be true, the elderly will tell you.....
