Geocache Description:

R2R = Round to Rammy. A series of caches which take you out and about, which can be combined together for a days walk starting from Ramsbottom, or you could do them individually.

New Gate Brook, is a geocache located in the hills above Turn Village.

New Gate Brook arises on the slopes of Whittle Hill, and then runs down to Dearden Brook near to Edenfield. The cache is near to where the Brook is at its most dramatic.

The path up from Turn village is an old quarry track, and uphill from the cache is located an old sandstone quarry from the 1850s.

It is a steep pull up from Turn village, but it is worth the effort, as the views are good as you gain your height. The path can be muddy and boggy, with sections also rocky, so please be careful.

It is an upland area, so please go prepared with the correct footwear and clothing.

Please watch your footing going up and down from the cache site, as it is uneven under foot and can be slippy.
