To find this cache, you'll have to follow these detailed instructions and battle out a brain-teaser or two, all while meeting some fine, upstanding citizens of Chatswood. It's rather straight-forward cache except for one challenge, but cachers normally love it once they've figured out the solution. Thanks for all the Favorite votes!
First Citizen: Lyle
At the co-ordinates indicated, look for our first Upstanding Citizen of Chastwood. His name is Lyle (also known as GL86547) and he has been watching over this corner of Chatswood for a great many years. He's quite friendly, although he doesn't say much. Make sure you find him, or you won't get very far with these clues!
Once you've found Lyle, continue downhill (West), looking for his identical twin, Luke.
Second Citizen: Luke
You shouldn't have too much trouble spotting Luke (also known as GL90944), since he's pretty much identical to Lyle. However, be wary of other family members that might look similar.
At this point, rather than going the direction Luke tends to point, take the perpendicular (Northerly) route and look for his girlfriend Alyce.
Third Citizen: Alyce
Alyce (also known as GL90943) is looking a bit worse for wear these days and has a couple of artificial limbs. However, she loves a good chat and rumour has it that she has a nice-looking backside.
In fact, if you engage her in conversation, she's likely to point you to her very best friend, Svetlana, who lives downhill a few blocks away. Make sure you get hand-written coordinates from Alyce rather than trying to find Svetlana unaided.
Fourth Citizen: Svetlana
If you survive the journey to Svetlana (also known as GL59756), you may be in for a bit of a rude shock. You see, Svetlana doesn't speak English too well. So if you ask her a question, you may have difficulty understanding her reply.
Your task is to translate Svetlana's handwritten message, which contains a hint as to where to find the next clue. Some pen and paper might assist in this translation task.
Svetlana's Challenge
Once you've figured out where to find the clue, you'll be up for an even harder challenge. The final co-ordinates for the cache's hiding spot have been specially encoded within two rectangles in such a manner as to keep them from being identified by muggles. However, it will be your task to decode the co-ordinates from the puzzle given. Again, it would be overly clever to bring a pen and some paper.
Oh, the challenge is located in an area that is popular with muggles, so people might stare at you a little bit while you're accessing the puzzle. It's muggle-safe, but come prepared with a good cover story!
The Cache
If you successfully decode Svetlana's Challenge, you'll have the co-ordinates for the final cache, which is only a short stroll away. (No need to even cross a road. So, if your co-ordinates indicate a vastly different location, you got the puzzle answer wrong!) The cache has been moved slightly from the original location due to changes of Nature over the years, but it's within a few metres of the coordinates.
