Geocache Description:

This is one of a number of caches being part of Mole's 'Series of Series' or SOS for short

I have put together a series of caches and the theme of these is ‘Series’ – each cache is, in their own right, part of a group of caches around the country following a theme linked to a landmark or object. Each ‘series’ was devised by an individual cacher who either retained the series and developed it on their own such as the ponds, dewponds and lakes series by martletsman or encouraged other cachers to add to the series with the request to advise the originator of a new addition in order to keep tabs of the increasing number and save duplication – such as the church micro series, which is managed by sadexploration. There are some series of caches which do not get referred to by a rolling number allocated by the originator (like church micro #176), instead these others are referred to by their location – such as the motorway mayhem series where the motorway and the junction distinguish it from any other. My little series will draw on many of these – each being part of the series referred to but part of this series – Mole’s SOS (Series Of Series)

This is another un-numbered series where cachers have hidden caches at locations near motorway junctions – The first of these I believe was hidden at a junction off the M1 (fittingly), (M1 J8 Motorway Cache Break (Motorway Mayhem) GCM44J) but it has been taken up by many different cachers with examples all over the country. This cache is not as much a cache and dash from the motorway as some are, though it is a cache and dash in the sense that you can park nearby (with care). Access to this can be gained from the M25 from both directions via the A21 – make you way into Chipstead and turn left.
I have chosen this location as I wanted to be true to the title (mayhem) - Once at the location you will see the various legs to this motorway as they disappear off in numerous directions – not quite spaghetti junction, but West Kent’s answer to it. You can see M25 going north and south, M26 going east and A21 going south.
parking is better away from the area (further down the road)
