Zentralanstalt für Meteorologie und Geodynamik
Im Jahre 1872 übersiedelte die Zentralanstalt für Meteorologie und Geodynamik von der Wieden (4. Wiener Gemeindebezirk) auf die Hohe Warte. Das neue Quartier wurde zuvor von Heinrich von Ferstel in den Jahren 1870 bis 1872 errichtet.
Das Institut zeigt sich unter anderem für den täglichen österreichischen Wetterbericht verantwortlich.
Im Jahre 1957 wurde es beträchtlich erweitert, in den Jahren 1967 und 1973 wurden zusätzlich ein Radarturm, ein Ballonfüllhaus und ein neues Bürogebäude auf dem Gelände der Zentralanstalt errichtet. Dieses Bürogebäude beherbergt heute eine große Fachbibliothek auf dem Gebiet der Meteorologie und Geophysik.
Am 1. Jänner 2023 wurde aus der ZAMG durch Zusammenlegung selbiger mit der Geologischen Bundesanstalt (GBA) die Geosphere Austria. Durch diese Zusammenlegung soll die umfassende Erforschung der Erde, vom Kern bis zur Atmosphäre, vorangetrieben werden, sowie auch die Bereitstellung von nutzerorientierten Dienstleistungen.
Bitte behandelt das Logbuch sorgsam, damit es nicht zerfällt. Die Dose platziert wieder dort, wo ihr sie gefunden habt bzw. so, daß sie nicht ohne Suchen sichtbar ist.

Head institute for meteorology and geodynamics
In 1872 the head institute for meteorology and geodynamics relocated from Wieden (the 4th Vienna district) to the Hohe Warte. The new accomodation was built afore by Heinrich von Ferstel between 1870 and 1872.
Inter alia the institute is responsible for the daily weather forecast.
In 1957 it was expanded considerably, in the years 1967 to 1973 a radar tower, a building to fill up balloons and an office building have been built additionally on this area. The office building accomodates a specialised library for meteorology and geophysics.
On January 1, 2023, the ZAMG became Geosphere Austria by merging it with the Federal Geological Institute. This merger is intended to advance comprehensive exploration of the Earth, from the core to the atmosphere, as well as the provision of user-oriented services.
Please treat the logbook carefully therewith it doesn't degrade and place the box where you found it respectively in a way it can't be seen without searching.
