Geocache Description:

Confluence Hunting (visit link) is another geeky hobby making use of a GPS, though it doesn't involve people looking for hidden treasures, but rather for the intersections of longitude and latitude lines.

I just recorded my second successful visit (after 16N 104E) and had decided to place a cache at the spot while there. What better opportunity to kill two birds with one stone! I think this has been done before elsewhere, but not very often.

The confluence listing is linked at the top of this page (my own report in the works and not yet published, so it shows a visit by someone else in 2002).

The place is in the Srisa Krabue ('buffalo head') community, Ongkharak district, Nakhon Nayok province, some 50 km northeast of Bangkok (as the crow flies), immediately north of a canal (Khlong 22) running in east-west direction. You can drive right up to the confluence if you like - the final leg is 150m of grassy track dead-ending at the canal. A beautiful, relaxing spot, with bamboo shrubs gently swaying in the wind. Hope someone will have the chance to visit, it is well worth the 1.5 hour trip from the big city. In case you go, don't forget to submit your story and pictures to confluence.org as well......

Approach from Bangkok is either via the Rangsit-Nakhon Nayok Highway (#305) to Ongkharak and then south on road #3001, and finally west on the local road (badly potholed) on the north side of Khlong 22; or via the Minburi-Nong Chok-Chachoengsao route (#304) to Bang Nam Priao (Chachoengsao province), then north on road #3001.

True position of the cache is 14°00.007 N 100°59.998 E - about 6m northwest of the confluence point.

Spaghetti sauce glass, just a stash note in Thai & English, a log, and a bunch of coins (no geocoins!) from various countries.
