Side Tracked caches have become a nationwide series of caches for public transport users. They are intended to provide quick cache-and-dashes at or nearby railway stations. Caches can be found close to stations of the national rail network and well as heritage railways. For more information on the SideTracked series of caches can be found at click here. This cache is not strictly a cache and dash, I would allow 25-30 minutes from the stated co-ordinates to the final location and back to the station.
The current station building was built in ABCD by the London & North Western Railway to a design by architect Gerald Horsley however the original station was opened on this site in EFGH. The station is served by trains currently operated by London Overground who took over from the previous operator Silverlink after the last round of re-franchising of the British rail services. Time of the trains services to and from this station can be at the National Rail Enquiries website.
