On the summit of Poot Peak.
This cache is the first of my 3rd decade. I hid it on the evening of my 30th birthday. What an amazing day. We camped on the spit then took a boat ride to Halibut Cove Lagoon. You have to go at high tide (+10 feet) so plan accordingly. We then took the trail to Leisure Lake for a fantastic camping experience. The trails are marked with signs but they weren't all pointed in the right direction so use your map and common sense. It is suggested that for the upper peak you need a rope. We didn't, but use your judgment. If you can handle 4th class with a little exposure, you are fine. The trail was in relatively good shape all the way to the top. The biggest danger is that you won't want to go home. The routes are clearly marded on the State Park map...take the north route from Leisure Lake. Email me if you need any additional information. This is a moderate peak on good rock. Don't get tempted to take the first gully, you will regret it. Progress around the edge alittle bit. The trail will take you where you want to go. Good luck.
