Melodius: Well, it's been an awesome 11 years. It sounds like this area has changed a lot since I placed the cache and this is no longer a good spot for it. NYOff seems to be missing and now the cache is muggled and gone so it's time to bring this cache to an end. I live in Maine and it's just not practical for me to try to return to rehide it, especially in the midst of a global pandemic.

I want to thank everyone who has been involved in this cache in some way, whether it be helping me come up with the concept of the cache, keeping an eye on it for me after I moved or finding and logging the cache. I am really proud that it was able to survive another six years after I left Massachusetts. Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you for the memories. Happy caching.

Geocache Description:

You are about to embark upon a very important mission. You have agreed to save Triphammer Pond from a chemical attack. The well-being of the wildlife and visitors of Wompatuck State Park are depending on you, so it’s necessary to follow the instructions very carefully.

HazMa not only has an arsenal of hazardous waste but also one half of the final coordinates to the cache. You need to turn him into the leader of the authorities, NYOff, who will provide you with the other half of the coordinates necessary for finding the cache. Both of these TB’s will be located within the confines of Wompatuck State Park, and it is your responsibility to make sure they don’t leave the park. Feel free to move them to other caches, but it is CRITICAL that they stay WITHIN WOMPATUCK STATE PARK! If you move them to other caches, you must do so the same day you find them. Since finding the cache is dependent upon the accessibility of the TB’s, it is imperative that they be in caches within the park. If you keep them in your possession or take them out of the park, no one will have the opportunity to find the cache and Triphammer Pond will be doomed.

The cache is also located within the confines of Wompatuck. The coordinates listed on this page do not take you to the cache but rather to where you can park. The final coordinates were determined by averaging over 600 waypoints.

It is also important to trade equally or trade up. Please do not take anything from the cache unless you have something to leave in its place. I have placed two trackable items in the cache and that means there should always be two trackables in the cache. If you do not have a trackable item to leave, please do not take one from this cache. It is part of being a fair and responsible cacher.
