The most striking part of this church is the large, dominating West tower with its diagonal butresses and three-light bell openings. There was already a church on this site well before 1100, but the present building was much altered in the 19th century. Nevertheless, the impressive tower remains as it was completed by John de Vere, 15th Earl of Oxford. Begun in around 1460, it has battlements with flushwork decorations dated 1534 and the arms and mullets of the de Veres.
There is parking available in Park Lane or in the High St. but I would avoid school opening and closing times as the area can get quite manic then!
