Geocache Description:

Growing up, our family never went to the beach much, and when we did, it wasn’t to Wildwood. It has been fun in the last several years heading over this way to pick up caches. While looking at the map on the Garmin Nuvi we were surprised to see an area named Diamond Beach. Hmmm, we had always heard of Cape May diamonds, but not this spot. So, we placed a cache so you too could learn a bit about diamonds and visit Diamond Beach.

This cache is hidden just off a public access to the beach and is available from 6am-11pm. The **/** rating is due more to muggles and the sand involved than anything else. In addition to stealth, parking will be your main concern when seeking this one. As beaches in this area are free, folks love to head here and parking is a premium. You will need to walk on the sand for just a few steps. The container is a large pill bottle and is tethered. It contains a logsheet, pencil, and some diamonds! Well, not real ones, but maybe the kiddies will be impressed.

A diamond is an extremely hard, highly refractive crystalline form of carbon that is usually colorless. Diamonds are generally used as gemstones and in abrasives, cutting tools, and other applications. Most of us are familiar with diamonds used for adornment. Four factors are considered when judging a diamond's quality and cost: the diamond's color, its clarity, diamond cut, and carat weight.

NOTE: My how this one has changed in the last three years. There are now dunes right near the cache. You may not walk on the dunes, so you will have to retrieve this one from the walkway.
