central Europe" might actually become a real road soon. Before
it does, let's go for a short walk!
CZ: V Ceske Skalici jsem bydlel
zhruba 10 let a porad tam casto jezdim a projizdim. Tranzitni
doprava mestecko zatezuje tak, ze neni skoro mozne bezpecne prejit
cestu, neni mozne tam jet na kole a ve spicce se pripravte na
fronty, ktere vas tu mozna notne zdrzi.
Pritom reseni je na dosah ruky - uz 13 let!
Nachodsky denik pise: "Po trinacti letech handrkovani a dosud
bezucelne prostavenych skoro trictvrte miliardy korun
svita Ceskoskalickym na lepsi casy. Dostavba silnicniho obchvatu
frekventovaneho prutahu mestem z Hradce na Nachod, ktery zatim
slepe konci pred hranici pozemku soukromeho vlastnika, je nyni snad
konecne na dohled."
Tomuto "happy-endu" ovsem predchazelo 13 let jednani o nicem,
odsouvani, presouvani a vymlouvani na vsech stranach - a samozrejme
to odnaseli hlavne obyvatele mesta. Na podporu dokonceni obchvatu
vzniklo v Ceske Skalici dokonce obcanske sdruzeni, ktere jiz
dvakrat zorganizovalo verejnou protestni akci, kdy mistni na 15
minut organizovanym prechazenim zablokovali prechody a zastavili
tak veskerou tranzitni dopravu ve meste.
Dne 29. 4. byly podepsany smlouvy mezi krajem, mestem a majiteli
pozemku. Podle zverejneho planu pak majitel sbernu vyklidi do 31.
cervence, 15. prosince by pak uz ridici mohli po obchvatu jezdit.
Proto spechejte, at si muzete uzit cache s prochazkou a zaroven
sledovat zaverecnou fazi vystavby obchvatu - az po silnici zacnou
jezdit auta, skonci cache v propadlisti dejin - a ja uprimne
doufam, ze to bude brzy.

EN: I lived in Ceska Skalice for
almost 10 years and I still come and pass through frequently. The
transit traffic is killing the small town - it's virtually
impossible to cross the road most of the time, to ride a bike on
the main road and be ready to get stuck in traffic in peak
hours.
But the solution is very simple - as it has been for the past 13
years!
Bulding of the unfinished by-pass road was started 13 years ago and
could not been finished because of unsettled dispute with owner of
one of the parcels. After the total cost of more than 750
million CZK (~30 million EUR), the local newspaper nicknamed
the road "The most expensive bike route in central Europe".
The latest development in the case brings some hope - there has
been an agreement signed by the regional politicians and the land
owner which should clear the way for finishing the by-pass soon -
the owner should leave by the end of July and in mid-December we
should see first cars passing through the new road.
Therefore hurry up to catch the last chance to have a nice and
quiet walk - or bike / inline ride on the new, smooth and untouched
surface. When the road turns into a real road, the cache will
become history. And I sincerely hope it will be soon.
