CZ: Na vápencovém ostrohu nad rekou Sázavou se majestátne vypíná složitý komplex hradu Ledec. Behem staletí se zde vystrídala rada majitelu, kterí svými zámery upravovali puvodne rane gotický hrad z poloviny 13. století pozdne goticky, renesancne a barokne. Od pocátku 13. století se zde setkáváme s blíže neznámými majiteli panství – vladyky, mající predikát „z Ledce“ (Zikmund z Ledce, Slávek z Ledce, Lipold z Ledce ...). Teprve v druhé polovine 15. stol. existují podrobnejší zmínky o rodu pánu z Rícan, jejichž erb s drobnými úpravami prevzalo mesto do svého znaku. V roce 1509 zde došlo k velkému neštestí, kdy se pri oslave propadl strop východního paláce a zahynula manželka Jana Buriana Ledecského z Rícan - Žofka ze Sovince, jejich dva synové a jejich družky. Panství pak prešlo nacas pod vládu Mezirícských z Lomnice. Následovaly další významné rody – Trckové z Lípy, Adrian z Enkefurtu, Thunové, Vežníkové, Lichtenšteinové a další. V roce 1753 odkoupila zadlužené ledecské panství císarovna Marie Terezie od Ignáce, svobodného pána z Kochu za 240 000 rýnských zlatých a darovala ho Rádu zchudlých šlechticen v Praze na Hradcanech, který založila. V roce 1879 vypukl na hrade jeden z nejvetších požáru, který se podarilo uhasit až po trech dnech. Hrad už nebyl nikdy uveden do puvodní podoby. Po první pozemkové reforme prešlo panství pod státní správu. V roce 1951 byl hrad predán do užívání státním lesum. Nyní je jeho správcem spolecnost Hrad Ledec nad Sázavou, s.r.o.
