Centre of the Uni-Verse

William Warren, from Trinity College,
In 1725 completed the Knowledge.
With chain in hand and a cheery smile,
To London he measured, mile by mile.
The Romans came, and did it before,
But this Fellow Warren had to be sure.
From Cambridge city, a famous landmark,
Was the chosen place, his quest to embark.
It’s now considered the Cambridge middle
And becomes the point to this riddle.
Shouldn’t take long for you to crack.
The cache is close. Look for the plaque !

Don't expect to see this milestone at GZ! It's somewhere else in Cambridgeshire.
