Ein einfacher Multi an der Nordermole. Bitte Stift mitbringen.
Zeitbedarf ohne Pausen: unter einer Stunde. Hier steht die Lokation im Vordergrund. Zusätzliche Zeit für Kinderspielplatz, Besichtigungen, Genießen und zum Verweilen bitte einplanen.
Dies ist die Neuauflage des ehemaligen Caches Nordermole (GC1AW43). Aufbauend auf dem alten Cache besteht dieser nun aus fünf Stationen plus Final.
Der Cachebehälter kann außer dem Logbuch auch kleine Travelbugs und Coins aufnehmen.
Was ist typisch für Travemünde? Das Maritim ganz sicher. Auch der alte Leuchtturm und die Viermastbark PASSAT sind bekannt. Auf der Liste fehlt aber noch jenes massive Bauwerk am Wasser, das viele Besucher anlockt: die Nordermole. Seit 1964 schützt die 182 Meter lange Nordermole das Fahrwasser der Trave vor der Versandung.
Bei den Startkoordinaten setzen wir uns zu der Steinfigur, beobachten die Schiffe und winken Seglern zu. Die PASSAT auf der anderen Traveseite erzählt von alten Tagen. Auslaufende Schiffe wecken das Fernweh.

In 60 Metern, Richtung 292° ist ein gestrandetes Piratenschiff.

Nun gehen wir zum Molenkopf (WP). Wo sonst kommen einem die riesigen Fähren zum Greifen nahe? Macht doch mal ein Foto, wenn ein hübscher Segler oder ein großes Schiff vorbeikommt. Auch wenn eine Fähre erst am Horizont zu sehen ist und das Lotsenboot gerade ausläuft, so ist das Schiff doch erstaunlich schnell da und läuft direkt vor Eurer Nase in die Trave ein.

Der kleine Leuchtturm an der Spitze ist vor Kurzem erst ersetzt worden.
Wir zählen hier die Anzahl der Festmacherpfähle für Schiffe. Das sind die Pfähle auf der Trave-Seite, ca 20 m von der Mole entfernt im Wasser. (Es sind mehr als auf dem Winterfoto in der Galerie zu sehen sind)

Weiter geht es zu "Trave Traffic" (WP). Hier wird der Schiffsverkehr der Trave gesteuert. Mehr Informationen dazu erfahren wir in den Schaukästen.

Auf dem Weg zum alten Leuchtturm (nächster WP) kommen wir an der Anlegestelle der Priwall-Personen-Fähre vorbei.
Möglichkeit: Im Sommer kann man hier mit der Personenfähre/Nordermole übersetzen um die Priwall-Halbinsel und den Viermaster PASSAT zu besuchen.
Der älteste Leuchtturm (WP) Deutschlands wurde erstmals 1330 urkundlich erwähnt. Mehrfach zerstört und wiederaufgebaut diente er bis 1972 als Seezeichen.

Takes less than one hour without breaks. Please plan additional time for playground, sightseeing and at your leisure.
The cache has 5 stages plus final. The Cachebox contains the logbook and can hold small travelbugs and coins.
What is typical for Travemünde? The hotel Maritim of course. Also the old lighthouse and the four masted barque PASSAT are well known. On the list there is missing that solid building at the water, which attracts many visitors: the Nordermole. Since 1964 the 182 meters long Nordermole protects the river Trave against sanding up.
At the starting coordinates we sit down to the stone statue, watch the ships and beckon to sailors. The PASSAT on the other side of the river Trave tells of old days. The running out ships let us dream about distant countries.

Now we go to the mole-head (WP).
Where else are the giant ferries passing within grasp? You may take a picture of a beatiful sailor or a huge ship is passing. Even when the pilot cutter is running out while the ferry is just visible at the horizon, it takes a surprisingly short ammount of time until the ship is entering the river Trave right in front of you nose.

We continue our way and to "Trave Traffic" (WP). Here the ship traffic around the river Trave is managed. Further informations are seen in showcases.

On the way to the old Lighthouse (next WP) we pass the landing place of the "Priwall-Personen-Fähre" (people ferry).
Chance: In the summer we can ferry with the Personenfähre/Nordermole across the Trave to the Priwall-peninsula to visit the four-mast-barque PASSAT.
The oldest lighthouse (WP) in Germany has been dokumented for the first time in 1330. Destroyed and rebuild several times it has been used as a Seamark until 1972.
