I want to invite all Icelandic geocachers and all the geocaching
tourists who will be in Reykjavík on
12th June to
probably the first geocaching event in this marvellous country.
We will meet at
Öskjuhlíð hill at 8 o'clock
to chat and barbecue. At 8.56 (3 hours before sunset) we will go
for a little treasure hunt game.
I will arrange disposable grills and
you are supposed to come with your own food, drinks and GPS
device.
The event is outdoor and
will be held in any weather. If it rains too heavily we can
move downtown after the game and find a nice cafe or pub. In that
case I will stick my phone number under a wooden table at the
event's coordinates for those coming later.
The event is open to everyone and
there are no limits on the number of participants. But for those
who confirm their attandance in advance I offer "eina með öllu"
(please write how many people will attend).
I am looking forward to seeing you
all and having nice time together.
To get there:
Öskjuhlíð is a small hill close to the
city center so I recommend walking there.
If you want to use public
transportation -
strætó, take bus
Nr. 19 (bus stop Hótel Loftleiðir) or 18 (bus stop Perlan).
For those driving a car there is a
recommended parking at the Pearl (Perlan): N 64°07.730 W
021°55.038.
