Geocache Description:

Filiální kostel sv. Stanislava stojí o samote jižne od obce Osiky nad malebným údolí potoka Besénku. Jedná se o barokní stavbu z 18. století. Na tomto míste stávala pravdepodobne již v roce 1407 svatyne. Kostel je chránenou památkou. Hrbitov u kostela sv. Stanislava je spolecný pro ctyri okolní obce. Uprostred stojí nedatovaný mramorový kríž.

The church of St. Stanislav stand alone above the picturesque Besenek river valley, south of the village Osiky. It’s in Baroque style from 18th century. On this spot, there was most likely shrine dating from 1407. The Church is a protected national heritage. The cemetery at st. Stanislav is shared by four neighboring villages. An undated marble cross stands in the centre of cemetery.

Je tomu už velmi dávno, kdy se to stalo. Mezi Osikami a Brumovem staveli na vršku kostel. Protože meli Osictí a Brumovští do Lomnice tuze daleko, chteli mít Pána Boha blíže. Zdiva utešene pribývalo. „Co to,“ divili se najednou zedníci, když zpozorovali, že se jim v noci ztratilo, co ve dne vyzdili. Tak to chodilo nekolik dnu, avšak zlodeje se vypátrat nepodarilo. Snad proto, že hlídaci nestáli za nic. Vymenili je tedy a ejhle! Noví hlídali lépe. Po pulnoci uslyšeli mávání obrovských krídel a spatrili dva veliké orly, kterí ostrými zobci odsekávali cihly i s maltou a odnášeli je. Kam však? To se zjístilo na druhý den. Lidé se rozešli po okolí a hledali ukradené zdivo. A také je našli – u zboreniska hradu Levnova. Vystaveli tam tedy kostelík k pocte svatého Stanislava. Na orly se nezapomnelo. Na památku byly jejich podoby vyrezány do dreva, zbožní Brumovští dali jim vymalovat pekné perí a tak se okrídlení zlodeji dostali do kostelíka. Clovek má prece konec koncu jen úctu k vrchnosti a král, trebas byl zlodej, má právo, aby byl Pánu Bohu blíž než obycejný smrtelník. Prešly doby, i orli zestárli, opelichali a tak co s nimi? Pozdejší pokolení, které nemelo již té úcty ke královskému majestátu, naložilo s nimi opravdu barbarsky. Vyhostilo je z kostelíka a vykázalo jim pobyt ve veži. Však je uvidíte, až se dostanete k svatému Stanislávkovi. Nejsou však již tak hezcí, jako bývali. Z kraje od Pernštejna k Veverí – Karel Ficp

It happened a long time ago. Between Osiky and Brumov on top of the hill, a church was build. Because of villagers had too long a way to go to Lomnice, they wanted to bring God closer to them. Everyone was happy with the progress, but to the masons surprise, they realized that overnight they had lost all the progress they’d made during the day. This was happening for many days and still couldn’t figure it out. Maybe because the guards were worthless so they throw them out. With new guards the construction was back on track. After midnight they heard the flapping of giant wins and witnessed two enormous eagles, which with sharp talons, cut through the brick and mortar, and took it away. But where to? They didn’t find out until the next day. They all spread out to hunt for the stolen material. And they found it in the ruins of the Levnov castle. Therefore they decided to build a church in honor of St. Stanislav. Two eagles were not forgotten. I n memory of their act, their image was curved into wood, then the pius people of Brumov had the feathers painted so winged thieves had their place in the church. The men, nevertheless, must only obey those above him,. The King, even as a thief, has the right to be closer to God, then an ordinary mortal. Over time, eagles loose their feathers and get old, what can be done with them? The next generation, which didn’t have the same obedience towards the majestic king, did some very barbaric things.
