In 2009, back when feature phones still ruled the day and Twitter was juuuuust catching on, Groundspeak began supporting automatic Twitter updates. Register your Twitter handle and cell number, log a cache via text message from your mobile phone, and boom - Geocaching.com would tweet it out to the three or four other people you knew who also had Twitter accounts.
Times have changed, and TextMarking is no longer supported by the Lily Pad. But you can still enjoy some tweeting anyway.
Two notes of some import...
- Please be very careful when retrieving the cache, and try to return it as you found it
- Please don't give too much away in your logs!
Edited to add... I took this photo with my iPhone when originally placing the cache - an entire family of actual Tweeters was too serendipitous to ignore! (Please note, the cache has since been moved and is now about 90 feet away from these little guys. Coordinates have been updated.)
Bring your own pen, and enjoy the only cache that Tweets!
