Závod sidecaru Velké ceny Brna se v srpnu 1958 vyvíjel velmi napínave pro páry Camathias - Kassner a Drion - Stollová. Drion se Stollovou jezdili v závesu za první dvojicí. A to až do predposledního kola, kdy v mírné pravotocivé zatácce vyletel jejich Norton s císlem 16 z trate a težce havarovali. Inge Stollová umírá na míste a Drion o neco pozdeji v nemocnici. Hovorí se o tom, že Stollová zatácku prakticky nevyvažovala, což mohlo mít souvislost s tím, že v treningu jezdili s vozíkem pripevneným na druhé strane.
Každopádne bylo tohle kolo jejich poslední.
Z aktéru této tragédie dnes už nežije ani Horst Kassner (1937), který v osudném závode zastoupil zraneného Hilmara Cecco. Zemřel 21 Dubna 2019. Stabilní spolujezdec víteze Švýcara Camathiase, Nemec Hilmar Cecco zahynul v posledním kole závodu v italské Modene v roce 1961 a Florian Camathias se zabil 10. ríjna 1965 na okruhu v Brands Hatch v Anglii.

Jacques Drion and Inge Stoll-Laforge had their accident on Sunday 24 August 1958 in the Czechoslovakian Grand Prix, a race that was not part of the World Championship. The accident happened on the penultimate lap of the sidecar race in the same spot where Hans Baltisberger had died in 1956. Drion and Stoll-Laforge were lying in second position when they went wide at full speed on a right hand bend and touched the fence. The outfit overturned, Inge Stoll-Laforge was killed instantly and Jacques Drion died shortly after he was admitted to hospital. The race was won by Florian Camathias with German solo rider Horst Kassner as passenger (Camathias' usual partner Hilmar Cecco had been injured during practice).

Drion had been French sidecar champion in 1952 and 1954, with Inge Stoll-Laforge as passenger. The pair had won the Finnish GP (a non championship race) at Helsinki on 15 May 1958, the Circuit de Pernes-les-Fontaines (France) on 01 June 1958, and the Circuit d'Obernai (France) on 29 June 1958.

Inge Stoll-Laforge started her career as sidecar passenger of her father Kurt Stoll when she was seventeen years old. In May 1958 she married Manfred Grunwald, the world sidecar champion of 1957 as passenger of Fritz Hillebrandt. Inge Stoll-Laforge had been previously engaged with Jacques Drion, however she continued to race (and probably stay friend) with Drion even after they broke up and she married Grunwald. She intended to stop racing at the end of the 1958 season. Laforge was her mother's surname.

According to the Italian magazine "Moto storiche & d'epoca", issue 7/8 of July/August 1996. Inge Stoll-Laforge's mother had died with her husband in a similar accident when Inge was a child. This information can't be confirmed and however it is not clear if that was a racing accident or not. Motorsport Memorial would appreciate information on Inge Stoll-Laforge's family.
