From the parking place follow the path over the bridge which
crosses the stream. After the gate pick a route up the steep grassy
slope to the first plateau. From there the terrain gets more
difficult with some very steep areas.
Choose a path up the mountain that you will be able to use on
your descent. The descent from this mountain is very steep in some

The hike from the car park to the cache is approx 2 hours. The
altitude difference is 550m. Proper waterproof walking boots/gear
and gaiters are required. Depending on the time of the year this
area can be very boggy.
There are fantastic views north to the Mweelrea Mountains and
the Sheefrey Hills and south to the Maumturk Mountains and the
Twelve Pins.
