Geocache Description:

Located on Lake Michigan, at the mouth of the Chicago River, the Chicago Harbor Lock serves as a gateway to one of the nation's busiest commercial and recreational waterways. Over 50,000 vessels, 900,000 passengers, and 200,000 tons of cargo pass through its gates annually. In the summer the area can be very crowded but the cache is set away from the crowds and provides a nice place to relax and enjoy the view. If you are visiting Chicago bring your camera as this location offers a nice photo opportunity. Please stay North of the fence. The cache is not hidden on the fence, gate, lock or any other location that would raise the attention or concerns of local authorities. The cache is a 1" x 2" black canister with a log only. Please bring your own pen or pencil.
