Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates but it's nearby.

Captain's Log, Stardate 64234.5:  After being sucked through a worm hole while in pursuit of a Klingon Bird of Prey the Enterprise has traveled back in time and is now orbiting Planet Earth during the year of 2009.  While trying to keep the Enterprise intact, as we were pulled through the worm hole, we drastically depleted our dilithium crystal reserves.  For the last 18 hours the ship has been in a gradual decaying orbit and will burn up if we don't find a dilithium crystal source.

Supplement:  Spock and three expendable first class personnel were transported to the earth's surface to search for the much needed dilithium crystals.  However, due to power fluctuations the transporter placed the three in separate locations.  After a few hours all three reported finding a full supply of dilithium crystals.

Stardate 64236.4, Science Officer Spock reporting:  I've lost contact with the ship and have only sporadic communications with the other members of the landing party.  I've come into contact with the local inhabitants who somehow recognize that I'm a Vulcan.  They greet me with “way cool costume” or “where’s the convention?”  One of them wanted to see my tricorder and when I refused he turned violent so I had to stun him with my phaser.  Others quickly contacted the local authorities with what appears to be a very primitive communicator.  Not knowing if I’d be captured by the authorities, I decided to hide the crystals.

Captain's Log, Stardate 64248.8:  We have successfully beamed Mr. Spock aboard, but without any of the dilithium crystals he reported to have found.  {Captain's Personal Log: Have Dr. McCoy conduct an examination of Spock as I believe his decision to hide the dilithium crystals was completely illogical.}  The other three expendable first class personnel were lost during our attempt to transport them aboard.

Stardate 64265.1,
Science Officer Spock reporting:  By using the ship's computer I've been able to determine the position of the crewmembers just before they were lost during the transporter incident.  By analyzing my communicator records I've also been able to determine the range I was to the crewmembers just as I was hiding the dilithium crystals.

My own biometric records indicate I was exactly 29.9 meters above the WGS-84 ellipsoid.  {Spock’s Personal Log:  Perhaps the captain is right; it’s completely illogical for me to reference this obsolete earth model but I somehow feel it’s needed.  Feelings?  Me?  I must be very ill.}
