A lock and lock box on a footpath near Old Warden airfield
This cache, one of a series of caches celebrating the aircraft of the Shuttleworth Collection at Old Warden, is on a footpath near the airfield, on the Old Warden Circular Walk. It can be a bit stinging-nettly in summer, so bring gloves (or a friend :-)
The series has a bonus cache: each cache contains a letter/number combination that you'll need to find the bonus.

The Royal Aircraft Factory's SE5a was a First World War fighter (or "Scout") of the Royal Flying Corps.
Although there are static examples (eg at the Science Museum and the RAF Museum), and flying replicas, the Shuttleworth Collection's SE5a dating from 1918 is the only original flying example in the world.
You can see the SE5a at the collection all year round, and flying at Shuttleworth air displays, which are held approximately fortnightly May to October.

Amenities: The Shuttleworth Collection has a cafe, gift shop and toilets, there's a pub that serves food in Old Warden village, and a farm shop in Upper Caldecote.
