Geocache Description:

St Lawrence, Asheldham

The current building is almost entirely 14th Century although it incorporates used roman bricks. Archealogical excavations of the site reveal that there was an ancient settlement on the site from at least the 5th century and there is speculation that this was the site of a wooden saxon church.

With a falling congregration the church was declared redundant in 1986 and is now used as a Diocesan Youth Centre.

The above coordinates are not for the cache itself, for that you will need to have found the following caches :-

The cache will be found at N51 40.(B)(G-B)(D) E000 51.(G)(D+E)(A+B)

If anybody would like to expand on this series please do so. Could you please let sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
