Uff, unser erster eigener Cache! Na hoffentlich haben wir nichts durcheinander gebracht ... ;-)

Also, wir führen Euch heute mit einem kleinen Multi zum verloren geglaubten Schatz des Grafen Wilhelm von Jülich, dem Erbauer der Burg Wilhelmstein! Graf Wilhelm von Jülich konnte seinen Schatz noch schnell verstecken, bevor er von einem Aachener Schmied in der so genannten „Gertrudisnacht“ mit einem Hammer erschlagen wurde. Gruselig, oder?

Parken könnt Ihr am besten direkt vor der Burg bei den oben genannten Koordinaten (N 50° 50.534 E 06° 06.202). Bitte beachtet die Öffnungszeiten der Burg, sonst steht Ihr vor verschlossenen Türen! (Montag Ruhetag, April bis September von Dienstag bis Sonntag von 11:30 Uhr bis 21:30 Uhr, Oktober bis März Dienstags und Donnerstags erst ab 17:00 Uhr) Bis zum Schatz ist es nicht sehr weit, ca. 10min zu Fuß. Insgesamt solltet Ihr aber ca. 1h einplanen. Der Weg zum und am Final könnte matschig sein, vor allem wenn es geregnet hat.

Station 1
Vor dem Burg-Tor steht schon eine interessante Infotafel, und dann geht’s auf in den Burghof. Augen auf und aufgepasst! Es gilt ein paar Fragen zu beantworten:

A = In welchem Jahr starb der Graf Wilhelm von Jülich?

B = Wie viele Etagen hatte früher der Bergfried der Burg?

C = In welchem Jahr wurde die Burg durch die Truppen Karls V zerstört?

D = Wie tief war ursprünglich der Brunnen der Burg?

E = Wenn Ihr am Brunnen steht, in welcher Himmelsrichtung war früher wohl der Kerker der Burg? Nord = 1, Ost = 2, Süd = 4, West = 8

F = Sucht dieses Schild (siehe Bild) im Burghof, denn dort findet Ihr eine Zahl!

Station 2
Nun geht’s zur zweiten Station: N 50° 50.(A – (B * D) - 475) E 06° 05. (F – ((1760 / E) + 1))

Schaut Euch hier etwas um und beantwortet folgende Fragen:

G = Wie viele Minuten sind es von hier aus bis zur Burg Wilhelmstein?

H = Irgendwas ist hier verboten. Nach welchen Paragraph kann man dafür bestraft werden?

I = Wie weit ist es bloß von Kleve bis nach Walbeck?

Station 3
Und nun geht’s zur dritten Station: N 50° 50.(H + 53) E 06° 05.(C - (I * G) - 322)

Hier findet Ihr einen ziemlich markanten Punkt am Wegesrand. Von diesem Punkt aus geht Ihr ca. 15 ... 20 m in Richtung Osten, aber Vorsicht, stolpert dabei nicht über den Schatz ;-)

Uff, our first cache! We hope we have not mixed up anything... ;-)

This small multi cache leads you to the lost treasure of Earl “Wilhelm of Jülich”, the builder of the Wilhelmstein castle! Earl Wilhelm of Jülich could just hiding his treasure, before he was killed by an Aachen smith using a hammer during the so-called "Gertrudisnacht". It’s creepy, isn’t it?

You can park your car directly in front of the castle at the coordinates given above (N 50° 50.534 E 06° 06.202). Please consider the opening hours of the castle! (on Monday always closed, April till September: Tuesday till Sunday from 11:30 o'clock to 21:30 o'clock, October till March: Tuesday and Thursday only from 17:00 o'clock) The treasure is not very far away, approx. 10 minutes to walk. However, you should plan approx. 1 hour for the whole cache. The way leading to and around the final could be mushy, especially if it has rained.

Station 1
In front of the castle’s gate you can find already an interesting info board, and then let’s go into the inner ward. Open your eyes and pay attention! A few questions have to be answered:

A = In which year did Earl Wilhelm of Jülich die?

B = How many floors did the donjon (tower) of the castle originally have?

C = In which year was the castle destroyed by the troops of Karl V?

D = How deep was the well of the castle originally?

E = If you stand near the well, in which direction was the dungeon of the castle located earlier? North = 1, East = 2, South = 4, West = 8

F = Search this sign (see picture) in the castle court, because there you’ll find a number!

Station 2
Now it goes on to the second station: N 50° 50.(A – (B * D) - 475) E 06° 05. (F – ((1760 / E) + 1))

Look around and answer the following questions:

G = How many minutes takes it from here up to the Wilhelmstein castle?

H = Something is forbidden here. According to which article can you be punished for it?

I = How far is it from Kleve to Walbeck?

Station 3
And now it goes to the third station: N 50° 50.(H + 53) E 06° 05.(C - (I * G) - 322)

Here you’ll find a quite striking point at the roadside. From this point you have to go approx. 15... 20 m in direction east, but be careful, don’t stumble over the treasure ;-)
