Geocache Description:

Situated on top of the hill on the Main Road from Chelmsford to Maldon stands St Margarets. The church was largely restored in the 19th century but retains some original features. It serves the villages of Woodham Mortimer and Hazeleigh See Hazeleigh View cache GC1MFBV.

The church is adjacent to the old rectory, now Woodham Mortimer Hall, the former home of Dr Peter Chamberlen 1601-83, the physician to James I, Charles I and Charles II.

There is a slip road approaching the church from Danbury for parking and a small area next to the church. The cache is a 'large' micro located a short distance from the church. Please be careful of the A414 which can be very busy at times.

For those of you who like a short walk please also see Woodham Mortimer Bonus Cache GC1P5J4. The coordinates for the bonus cache are written on the back of the logbook in the church micro cache.

If anybody would like to expand on this series please do so. Could you please let sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
