Listed coordinates are for the "Inventors Gate." One of the gated entrances to Central Park. Each gate was named by Olmsted and Vaux, the park's designers, for the type of perso they anticipated entering the park from that area. The cache is not there, but is a short walk away.
The thing is... Olmsted and Vaux didn't name this gate! In my research I have discovered that they had originally intended the park to have only 18 gates, not the current 21! This gate was originally named by them as the Childrens' Gate. In the 50's when Robert Moses was Parks Commissioner he added a sculpture to this entrance and changed the name in honor of it. Since then, this has been the Inventors' Gate. A new gate, added at 76th and 5th became the Childrens' Gate.
To find the actual cache, you will need to solve the puzzle below. There are many entrances to the puzzle maze, and many exits, but only one path through will give you what you need for the coordinates to the final cache. Once you have a solution add .016 to the North and .023 to the West.
