Kde se pivo vari...
Objevily se stare zpravy o vyrobe piva v Jihlave. Ta vubec nejstarsi je z 3. kvetna 1348, kdy kral Karel IV. oznamuje jihlavskemu rychtari a cele obci, ze zakazuje vareni piva na vesnicich. Jak vidno, varilo se cile vsude, a neni pochyb o tom, ze uz od sameho zalozeni mesta. Cim by asi hasili svoji vecnou zizen mistni hornici, nebyt tohoto dobreho moku tekouciho z mnoha jihlavskych pravovarecnych domu. Vsak jich bylo ve stredoveku registrovano 123. Zajimavy obsah ma listina cisare Ferdinanda III. z roku 1648 zakazujici senkovani piva a vina vojakum. Mnoho zajimavych zprav poskytuji jihlavske mestske knihy. Dodejme jen, ze do 19. stoleti se pocet zdejsich pivovaru snizil na ctyri a posleze v roce 1860 prevzal vyrobu jihlavskeho piva zdejsi, a dosud prosperujici, jediny pivovar.. Kde se pestoval chmel pro tolik zdejsich pivovaru? Nemylite se, vsude kolem dokola. A podle vynosu z jedine sazenice, muselo se tady na Vysocine chmelu darit dobre. Vsak take bylo zdejsi pivo proslule az hodne daleko. To vsak neznamena, ze se nedovazelo pivo odjinud. Dukazem muze byt povrchovy sber stredovekych strepu na polich v okoli Rounku, kde byly mimo jine nalezeny i porcelanove pivni uzavery z prelomu tohoto stoleti a to z Jaromeric, ze Znojma, ale i dalsich mist.

Where the beer is brewing....
we are reviewing old reports of brewing beer in Jihlava. The first reports date from May 3rd 1348, when King Charles IV. notified reeve's of Jihlava and the whole village banding brewing beer in the country. How you can see it was obvious that brewing beer was everywhere, and no doubt from the first time of the establishment of the town.
How would local miners quench their thirst? If there were not for a few privileged houses who could produce beer? In the mediaeval time there where registered 123 privilege houses. Very interesting official deed from the Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand III, dates from the 1648 prohibition tap beer and wine to all soldiers. The local Jihlava library offers all available book materials for you to read.
Let's just say that beginning of the 19 century the number of brewery decreased to four and after 1890 took over Jihlava brewery, the only one performing well from the surrounding area. Now you probably wonder where the hop came from for the local breweries? It came from all over the surrounding local areas. As the production of crops from one single seed it seems like the hop flourish very well in the highlands region. The local beer was renowed far away. Also some beer was imported, and new Archaeological findings, suggest broken pottery beer caps in the fields of Rounku from different region of Jaromeric and Znojma and other places.
