D-Day 6. Juni 1944:

D-Day June 6th 1944:

Die Alliierten stürmen den Strand von Omaha. Dabei stoßen sie auf gewaltigen Widerstand der Deutschen. Am Strand angekommen, erschweren die aufgestellten Stacheldrahtstellungen das weitere Vordringen der Alliierten. Diese sind jedoch im Besitz langer, dünner Sprengsätze, die wie folgt aussehen:

The allies attack omaha beach. They run against a strong resistance of the germans. On the beach huge barbwire positions aggravate the further encroachment of the allies. But they are in possession of long and thin explosive devices like these:

Die Sprengsätze wurden unter die Stacheldrahtstellungen plaziert, um sie durch die Sprengung zu entfernen. Kurz bevor die Zündung bevorstand, wurden folgende Worte geschrien:

The explosive charges have been placed below the barbwire positions in order to remove them. Just close before the ignition is imminent, these words were shouted:

"Fire in the hole"

Ich suche den englischen Namen des Sprengsatzes, der ursprünglich irgendwo in Indien entwickelt worden ist und daher auch seinen Namen trägt.
