As grutas da Salustreira, com cerca de oitenta metros de
comprimento e doze de altura, situam-se junto à área protegida de
rara beleza e tranquilidade, denominada de Fonte da Benémola.
Estas duas grutas distam uma da outra cerca de 30 metros e
encontram-se bastante vandalizadas, fruto da presença humana, visto
serem de fácil acesso. As suas entradas contêm algum lixo, porém à
medida que avançamos para o interior das grutas, as marcas humanas
desaparecem e o seu esplendor natural sobressai.
Para além da beleza das estalagmites e estalactites em formação,
ainda restam algumas poucas dezenas de pequenos morcegos que se
podem observar no seu habitat natural.
A Cache:
As coordenadas da listing da cache indicam a localização da cache
inicial, a qual contém as indicações para o resto da
aventura.
Serão igualmente disponibilizadas na página da cache
as coordenadas do início do trilho até às grutas, as
coordenadas da entrada da gruta pequena, e o
trilho recomendado até às
grutas, em formato (.gdb) (.upt) (.gpx) e (.kml).
Equipamento Recomendado:
- Essencial levar lanterna ou frontal com boa capacidade de
iluminação (e pilhas suplentes);
- Botas ou sapatilhas, ou outro tipo de calçado confortável e de
boa aderência a superfícies rochosas;
- Capacete protector.
Atenção:
- Acreditamos que é seguro procurar esta cache, no entanto
existem riscos inerentes a entrar em qualquer gruta. A
opção de entrar e procurar a cache é da sua inteira
responsabilidade.
- Aconselha-se a máxima prudência e cautela no percurso até às
grutas, e sobretudo na visita ao seu interior. Não desguarneça
a sua segurança, em qualquer momento.
- NÃO ENTRE NA GRUTA SOZINHO. Não ultrapasse os seus
limites.
- Por favor não destrua ou danifique o material disponibilizado, e
volte a repô-lo na cache inicial depois da
aventura.

The Salustreira caves, with around eighty
meters of length and twelve of height, are situated near the
protected area of rare beauty and tranquility, called Fonte
da Benémola.
These two caves are around 30 meters apart from
each other, and there are quite vandalized, as result of the
human presence, since they are easy to get to. Its entries
contain some garbage, however while we advance further inside
the caves, the human marks disappear and its natural splendor
stands out.
Besides the beauty of the stalagmites and
stalactites in formation, some few small bats still remain,
which you can observe in their natural habitat.
The Cache:
The published coordinates indicate the location
of the initial cache, which has in its interior the
instructions for the rest of the adventure.
It will be also available in this cache page,
the coordinates of the trail start that leads to the caves,
the coordinates of the entry of the small cave, and the
recommended GPS track to
the caves saved in format (.gdb) (.upt) (.gpx) e
(.kml).
Recommended
Equipment:
- Must have flashlight or headlight with good
lighting capacity (and extra batteries);
- Boots or sneakers, or other type of
comfortable shoes with good adherence to rocky
surfaces;
- Protective helmet.
Attention:
- Although we feel this is a safe hunt, there
are some risks in entering a cave. The option to
hunt this cache is yours, on your own risk and
responsibility.
- Please be very careful and prudent on the
trail to the caves, and specially in the visit to its
interior. Do not put at risk your security at any
moment.
- DO NOT ENTER THE CAVE ALONE. Do not exceed
your limits.
- Please don’t destroy or damage the available
material, and return it back to the initial cache after the
adventure.
