Geocache Description:

Opening hours: 10-18 except Monday. You have to enter during opening and ask the box from the cassa. This is free of charge :) After logging you can decide buy a ticket or go away.

With this cache you are invited to take a nice jaunt with your family in a nice castle. Suggested park place is N 47° 51.060' E 20° 8.587' Here you can taste the water of the spring which is pretty cold and has high iron concentrate Opening hours: 10-17 except Monday Fees: Adults 1200 HUF, Students: 700 HUF, Child under 6 years is free of charge. History of the castle Castle of Kisnana lies among houses at the south side of the Matra. This is one of the youngest medieval castles of Hungary, built around the middle of the 15th century. Its builders and owners, the Kompolti family, descendents of the Aba clan, lived in the castle for many centuries. The family line is ended in the sixteenth century. The ruins show all the characteristics of fifteenth century aristocratic castles having a palace, chapel, and living and service buildings protected by two rings of walls. The walls of the fourteenth century chapel still stand. The church was once surrounded by a graveyard and several gravestones can still be seen.
