A cache in the "Dead's Gorge" near Zakros.
The cache is near the palace of Zakros.
The palace of Zakros was the fourth bigest palace in the Minoan Times. It is located at the east side of crete. The cache is in the gorge who connect Zakros with Kato Zakros. The name of the gorge is " The Dead's Gorge", because there are many caves which was used as tombs at ancient times. We tried to put the cache at a point where you can have a good signal for gps.
You can start from two sides. Either from the top where you can park at N 35.05.815 E26.14.116 and to climb down to the gorge. This the nearest way (about 20 min.) but more difficult.
Either you can come from the seaside, park at N35.05.817 E26.15.649 and to walk in the gorge. This is the longest way (about 40 min.) but it is flat and you can see the greatness of the gorge.
You can continue your way in the gorge until to reach the village of Zakros. The cache is at the midlle.
