Corfe Common is Dorset's largest working common, covering 140 hectares. Much of the common has remained unploughed since Roman times and, as a result, is rich in wild flowers and archaeology. In the spring bluebells grow in the open, and in the summer there are many varieties of orchids such as the Heath Spotted and Southern Marsh orchids.
