Geocache Description:

You can take bus ALFA, a yellow complementary bus, from all terminals to the Jumbo hostel.

A new hostel has been “built” at the entrance to Arlanda airport, Jumbo Hostel.

The hostel is a 747-200 jumbo jet built in 1976. It was last operated by Transjet, a Swedish airline that went bankrupt in 2002. It was originally built for Singapore Airlines and later served with Pan Am.

In January 2008, the aircraft was moved to a construction site parking where the first phase of the conversion begun with the dismantling of the old interior, putting on new paint and building the new rooms. 450 seats were removed and the plane was entirely sanitized.

Summer 2008 the plane was towed to its final destination at the entrance to Arlanda where it was placed on a concrete foundation with the landing gear secured in two steel cradles.
